Protect Your Right to Vote – March in March

Voter suppression. Voter purges. | MyLO

The Voter Protection Committee (VPC) held their March in March event this year on March 11th. This annual event was inspired by Dr. Kings “March on the Ballots” speech on Mother’s Day in Kingstree, S.C. He called on citizens to register and to vote.

Please be aware that many of the voter accommodations that made voting more accessible were due to Covid-19. To protect your right to vote the  VPC advises that you follow these three steps:

  1. Check & update your address.
  2.  Get the best Photo Voter ID- the Voter Registration and Election permanent, plastic photo ID card. It cannot be suspended or expired, and it is valid in any precinct in which you live in SC.
  3. It is critical that all mail-in absentee ballots have a witness signature. Spread the word!
