ERA Actions

The Equal Rights Amendment is just one hurdle away from becoming the

28th Amendment to the United States Constitution.

It will guarantee equality in law for women.

We know phone calls and emails get counted…so your voice matters.

You can repeat your calls to emphasize

the importance of acting now.

Please make one phone call:

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer

202-224-6542.

Ask him to bring S.J. Res. 1 to the floor for a vote immediately. This joint resolution eliminates the deadline for ratification of the ERA. Say you are from South Carolina and that he needs to know there are many people in the Deep South who care about the ERA and equality guaranteed by the Constitution.

Then please make these phone calls and ask them to encourage

Senator Schumer to act now on S.J. Res 1. It’s critical now.

Senator Chris Murphy, 202-224-4041

Senator Amy Klobuchar, 202-224-3244

You may also email Senator Schumer’s staff:

Yara Doumit (Staff Assistant) — yara_doumit@schumer.senate.gov

This year we witnessed how easily women’s rights can be stripped as the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade.

Then we saw the strength of women’s votes change the course of history in the mid-term election.

Now, this is the moment to speak for the ERA.

The ratification deadline is the only remaining hurdle.  Elimination of that deadline has been approved by the United States House of Representatives under the leadership of Speaker Nancy Pelosi. It is important to hold the Senate vote now in the 117th Congress. Time is short.

What is the ERA? Just 24 words that give women equal legal status with men.

“Equality of rights under the law shall not be denied or abridged by the

United States or by any state on account of sex.”

The Time is NOW. Let’s be “all in for the ERA” in 2022.

Stay up to date on the ERA. Check this website often for updated action alerts.

I am contacting you today to ask you to support bills that will ratify the Equal Rights Amendment. Currently, he only constitutional right women have is the right to vote.  Women in South Carolina want the unwavering EQUALITY that the US constitutional amendment provides. Thank you for your efforts to secure equal justice under the law for SC Women.
It’s beyond time for SC to be the 39th state to put women into the Constitution of the United States.
